Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

SnapBracket is a free single-elimination bracket maker that runs in your browser. There are no accounts, and bracket data is processed locally. This Privacy Policy explains what limited data we handle and how.

1. Data We Handle

  • Bracket inputs and results: Team names, seeds, and winners stay in your browser tab. We do not receive or store them on our servers.
  • Images you upload: Optional team avatars are compressed in your browser and saved to localStorage under snapbracket:image-library so you can reuse them. They never leave your device. Items you insert into a bracket auto-expire after about 3 days; you can remove all uploads at any time from the image library or by clearing browser storage.
  • Built-in avatars and static assets: Served from our own files/CDN and do not collect personal data.
  • Usage data (optional): If analytics is configured and you accept optional cookies, we may load Google Analytics to view aggregated page views, device/browser type, approximate region, and engagement events. Bracket content and uploaded images are not sent to Analytics.
  • Advertising data (optional): If Google AdSense is configured and you accept optional cookies, Google may process ad request data such as the page URL, browser/device information, IP addresses, cookie or advertising identifiers, and fraud-prevention signals to provide, measure, and protect ads.

2. Cookies and Local Storage

  • Local storage is used only to keep your uploaded avatars and their timestamps so you can reuse them across sessions.
  • Consent choice is saved in local storage under snapbracket:cookie-consent so we can remember whether you accepted or rejected optional Google ads and analytics scripts.
  • Analytics cookies may be set by Google Analytics only after you accept optional cookies. You can block or delete them in your browser or use Google's opt-out tools.
  • Advertising cookies and identifiers may be used by Google AdSense only after you accept optional cookies. Third parties may place and read cookies in your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to collect information as a result of ad serving on this site.
  • Plausible analytics and Cloudflare services may process basic request and performance data such as page URL, referrer, browser, device, region, and network information. We use these services to understand aggregate usage and keep the site reliable.

3. How We Use Data

  • Run and improve the bracket maker (render brackets, remember uploads you saved locally).
  • Monitor performance and usage trends in aggregate when analytics is enabled.
  • Fund the site with ads if Google AdSense is enabled and you accept optional cookies.
  • Protect the service from abuse and debug issues.

4. Sharing and Transfers

  • We do not sell or share your bracket content or uploads.
  • Usage data may be processed by Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Plausible, and Cloudflare on our behalf or as independent service providers, depending on which services are enabled.
  • To understand how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

5. Retention

  • Bracket inputs live only in your browser tab until you close or refresh.
  • Uploaded avatars remain in local storage until you clear them; items you insert auto-expire after about 3 days.
  • Consent choice remains in local storage until you clear browser storage for SnapBracket.
  • Analytics and advertising retention is controlled by the relevant service providers; we access only aggregated reports where available.

6. Your Choices

  • You can accept or reject optional Google ads and analytics cookies from the consent banner.
  • If you want to change your choice later, clear site data for snapbracket.com in your browser and reload the page.
  • Visitors in regions that require consent, including the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, should only receive optional Google ads and analytics scripts after consent. Some Google AdSense privacy and messaging controls are managed in the AdSense account.

7. Security

We avoid collecting sensitive data by design. Because processing happens locally, please keep your device and browser secure and clear storage on shared machines.

8. Children

SnapBracket is intended for general audiences and not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
